Meta 3D Toolkit w/ Field.io, 2024

A 3D design system for Meta's brand family. The project involved creating a flexible component library in Houdini containing every UI element across Meta, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram as 3D geometry, with editable text, swappable images, configurable scale, materials, and colours for each brand. It included around 150 components, documented with guidelines for lighting, rendering, and file organisation. The second part involved developing a set of spatial compositions that placed these elements into real-world scenes.
My role covered the entire process: developing the component library and writing the technical documentation. The more creative aspect was the spatial compositions, which involved camera tracking live footage in Blender, animating in Houdini, and compositing in After Effects to insert 3D UI elements into physical scenes, ensuring they matched the lighting, perspective, and scale.

Each component is fully configurable. Text can be rewritten, images swapped, and parameters adjusted without rebuilding geometry.
